My father started One Call Services and was already a member when I joined. When he retired I maintained the membership

Our company has had a membership for 15 years
How/who first got you involved and what did you do?
Mark Grahne nominated me for the board of directors. Howard Fortunato also encouraged me to join.
What were your expectations when you joined? Have they changed?
I saw membership as a way to get involved with the industry, continue my education, and separate myself from my competition.
How has HBADE membership impacted your business?
Since joining I have become a Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) and Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS). Those designations have helped to distinguish my company. Being on the board of directors has helped me establish myself as a leader in my industry and market.
Fun fact about yourself?
I play ice hockey in men’s league in Harrington.
What wisdom/advice do you have for future members?
Don’t just be a member. Get involved in the association. Member involvement not only strengthens the HBADE, it also strengthens the individual.
