What/who prompted you to become a member?
I had participated in HBADE events with Jim & Howard as an employee. When I started my business I joined to continue that participation.
How long have you been a member?
I started my business in 2012 but have been coming to HBADE events since 2005.
How/who first got you involved and what did you do?
Jim McCulley and Howard Fortunato got me involved with the HBADE. The crab feast was the first event I went to (and have been hooked ever since).
What were your expectations when you joined? Have they changed?
To have a voice in the political process about the rules governing our industry and to generate good will (and business) through that participation. My expectations haven't changed.
How has HBADE membership impacted your business?
I wouldn't have a business without the HBADE.
Fun fact about yourself?
I am an amateur armorer (gun smith) and enjoy working on and reading about guns. I also knit.
What wisdom/advice do you have for future members?
There are two kinds of members: those who first want the association to benefit them and those who first want to be a benefit to the association. Thrive by becoming an asset to the association and give generously of your time. Builders are loyal customers.
