What/who prompted you to become a member?
Jeff Stover, of Stover Builders, originally approached Becker Morgan Group about becoming a member of HBA-DE. It just made sense to get involved and support the Housing industry which plays such a vital role in our economy. Becker Morgan provides subdivision and home design so it was a natural fit for us.
How long have you been a member?
Becker Morgan Group has been members since 2004.
How/who first got you involved and what did you do?
I was contacted by Jennifer Casey, the Executive Director at the time, in 2011 about becoming a member of the board at the recommendation of Jim McCulley. My focus on the board is working with state and local agencies to minimize the impact of regulations on land development.
What were your expectations when you joined? Have they changed?
My expectation was to help the housing industry in Delaware which plays a vital role in our economy as well as the quality of life of Delaware Residents.
How has HBADE membership impacted your business?
HBADE has been a positive impact to our business by creating partnerships with state and local agencies, keeping our business informed of new and pending regulations, as well as numerous networking opportunities with those in the housing industry.
Fun fact about yourself?
Fascinated by physics, especially the origins of gravity, and spend my spare time reading about relativity and quantum physics.
What wisdom/advice do you have for future members?
The benefits of HBADE are greatly expanded when members get involved either at the board level or committee level and attend events and get to know other members and exchange ideas and experiences. HBADE is at its best when its membership is engaged.
